When it comes to finding a new sales job, there are rules of engagement. It’s accepted you’ll send a perfectly scripted resume, do some research and wear business attire to the interview.

But what are the dos and don'ts when it comes to using LinkedIn?

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀;

👉 It’s OK to review your interviewer’s LinkedIn profile

👉 Don't stalk them daily. They may see this in Who Viewed Your Profile

👉 Be cautious when commenting on the interviewer’s posts during the interview process

👉 Don't send a connection request before the interview. You don’t want to risk appearing presumptuous or pushy

👉 Wait until a final decision is made before you consider sending a connection request

👉 Always personalise your connection requests

👉 Check if you have any former work colleague connections in common with the interviewer. If you do, they may be able to provide insight into the company or manager

👉 Review the company’s LinkedIn page so you're up to date with the latest news
